Here is a little tote bag that I created with some inspiration from my dear friend, splendidthingsbygg.blogspot.com, Gretchen. We were having a craft day a week ago and she gave me ideas for flowers and needless to say, I loved it! If you visit her blog, you will see how these cute little things are created. I'll add some of my own photos to show you how I put mine together.
I used a small/medium sized circular lid to draw multiple circles on the fabric. I made A TON of these little circles. In this project, more is better! So just keep on making circles and cuttin' them out!
Fold a circle into fourths. (As seen in the photo) You will then take that piece and glue it onto a unfolded circle. You will have four of these glued onto the unfolded circle. Keep gluing!
It will soon start to look like the photo to the left. After even more gluing it will start to look more and more like a flower. When you see that there should soon be a stopping point, fold a circle into eighths and glue it directly in the middle of the flower.
Then your flower should be complete!
With this tote, I made my flowers and hot glued kiwi colored ribbon to the back of the flower. I then hot glued the flower to the tote bag and strung the ribbon all the way down to the end, hot gluing the ribbon to the tote. I also made grass out of the same ribbon. I cut the top of the ribbon to give it a grassy effect. This is a super easy project that ANYONE can do and I love that I'll be able to use it soon. (Hopefully!) Please let me know if you are interested in knowing more about how I put this together. I'm hoping to draw up more ideas for the other totes I purchased. Do I sense a new blog coming within the next week or so? Maybe! Enjoy!
Here is the finished product!
